“Frankly Speaking” celebrate the culmination of the Speech 143 students' semester long quest to enchance their speech communication skills, their ablity to share meanings.

Each Speech 143 student is presenting a one-point speech on a topic about which they feel passionately. They support their central idea with excerpts from three different literary forms and conclude with a summary statement. For example, a student could use a poem,an excerpt from an autobiography, and a cutting from a play to develop the central idea: ‘War is.,,

Although classroom exercises and theater games are very valuable experiences, they are but a preparation for the most important acting experience: performance for the general public in a theatrical setting.

Yordon, author of Roles in Ji/eipretation defines oral interpretation as an artistic process of studying literature through performance and sharing that study with an audience”.
